Our History
In the early 1980's, John Franklin enlisted and spent four years as a Aircraft Maintenance Specialist in the U.S. Air Force working on (C-141 and C-5) Aircraft before proceeding on to work eight years as a (DC-10 and MD-11) Aerospace Assembly Mechanic and Production Line Supervisor at McDonnell Douglas (Long Beach, CA). After company-wide downsizing, he decided to change career path to pursue a new career in the field of Telecommunications and Technology.
In June 1996, after earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications Management, John worked for several large companies gaining valuable technical cabling skills, project management knowledge and business experience before venturing off into Residential and Commercial (VSAT) installations with DirecWay - (now) HughesNet.
In March 2007, John took a leap of faith with his knowledge and started up; Satcom Service
Over these past years, John has successfully grew and managed his telecommunications service business in the areas of installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining Structured Cabling, Satellite Systems, Computer Networks and various Low-Voltage Systems for Residential Home Owners, Commercial Business Customers as well as Public and Private Schools.
Today's Technology
With the many changes to today's consumer electronics, it becomes hard enough for one to know which big screen, computer, Wi-Fi router or personal electronic device to choose from. Next, is getting it to operate properly for the costly investment that was spent. Store sales personnel are 'great' on selling you a product for what it can do, but as far as how it should be installed and connected within your home or office could be anyone's guess. This, unless you have someone who can personally come out to your home or office location to see what all you would like to get connected.
Most of the time, Equipment Sales Personnel or Internet Service Providers (ISPs) leave it up to you to find you own installation vendor to have your personal electronics or equipment set-up and connected. Then, there are the Retailers that provide you with their in-house installation department that say they can do it all. However, once you go through the various departments and phases of getting the work accomplished,you maybe faced with spending more 'time and frustration' than what you had originally anticipated to get things done.
In taking all this into consideration, Satcom Service has built pride with providing "Exceptional" Customer Service to our Residential, Business and Education Customers. Our company and Installation Team has quickly grown to become well-known for their professional and 'dependable service', 'quality workmanship', 'affordable prices', and 'Superb Customer Service'. Our clients include renters, residential home owners, commercial customers, schools, major department stores, tire stores, financial institutions, supermarkets, restaurants and doctor offices.

We currently perform various data, telephone, audio and video installations and cut-overs for Residential, Offices Spaces and Retail Stores and cover most cities within Los Angeles County. In addition, We have over the past (10 Years) performed several various Installations here in Southern California and have had the pleasure of partnering with various other Nationwide Service, Contractors and Installation Service Provider Companies to perform their customer's (adds, moves, changes, upgrades and service work) throughout the Southern California areas.
